Additionally, Hanania has worked as a senior vice president for public relations and public affairs for many mainstream American media companies and is CEO of Urban Strategies Group media.
Hanania is a morning radio talkshow host in Chicago (broadcasting to the 6 million population around Chicago, Illinois, USA Monday thru Friday from 8 until 9:30 am on WJJG 1530 AM, available online at RadioChicagoland.com). In addition to radio and print media, Hanania also is an internationally acclaimed standup comedian who uses humor to bridge Arab-Israeli animosity and conflict. He also hosts a television Chicago broadcast every Friday night in 145 suburb Chicago communities. He co-hosts Radio Baladi (www.RadioBaladi.com) which simulcasts every Friday from 7 - 8 am Central (8-9 AM Eastern) a radio broadcast in English to audiences in Northern Illinois and Chicago, and Michigan, Northern Ohio and Windsor Canada.
He is a longtime peace activist who worked along side of the late Ibrahim Abu-Lughod and participated in many discusses with Professor Abu-Lughod and the late Edward Said.

Born in the Diaspora in the United States, his family hails from Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
Hanania served as the National President of the Palestinian American Congress (1995-96) elected unanimously on a platform supporting the then Oslo Peace Accords. And, he participated in meetings organized by President Bill Clinton at the White House on numerous occasions to help support the implementation of the peace place defined by the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and the late Palestinian President Yasir Arafat.
Hanania has also served as a media consultant for several Middle East politicians and governments including in Beirut, Lebanon providing media training for the support staff for Gen. Michel Aoun, and also providing media training through the Adam Smith Institute in London for the Negotiations Support Unit headed by former Palestinian Minister Yasser Abed Rabbo.
He has managed more than 50 mainstream political campaigns and elections. He continues to writes popular political and media analysis for newspapers around thew world including the Arab News, the Jerusalem Post, PalestineNote.com and Arabisto.com.
Hanania is the recipient of four Chicago Headline Club Society of Professional Journalism Lisagor Awards for column writing and analysis. He was named Best Ethnic American Columnist in America by the New America Media, and is the recipient of the 2009 M.T. Mehdi Courage in Journalism Award.
In 2010, Hanania was recognized with a National SPJ Sigma Delta Chi Award for column writing, detailing allegations of discrimination by a suburban Chicago American Arab grocer.
